The Philippine Social Science Council invites you to a three-part webinar series entitled “Life in Lockdown: Perspectives of the Social Scientists”. With more than a year since the lockdown, look back into how it has affected the lives of Filipinos as they adjust to the new normal. This series seeks to recognize the works or contribution of social scientists during the pandemic and explore their role in solving the country’s most complex issues brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first part of the series focuses on the rollout of vaccines and the general measures being taken by the government to vaccinate the Filipino population and how social scientists perceive such measures?
The second part of the series explores the experiences of women and LGBT groups during the pandemic, and the areas of social or legal protection the policymakers and other institutions should focus on.
Lastly, the third part of the series gives light to the ongoing war on drugs during the pandemic, why it persists and the different dimensions to consider to understand the situation.
Through delving into insights and stories, the series aims to highlight how social science knowledge can help solve problems brought about by the pandemic.
